INFORMATION

GETTING TO HOPE:

Hope is roughly a 2 hour drive away from Vancouver. Directions to Hope

Drive: The easiest way to get there is to hire a car.

Bus: You can also catch the Riderexpress bus from the Vancouver International Airport or Pacific Central Station for roughly $66 per person, the journey takes around 3 hours and will drop you off at 587 Old Hope Princeton Way. Riderexpress

PRE & POST WEDDING CATCHUPS:

If you’re in Vancouver and want to come say hi and/or meet some other wedding attendees both Carl and I will be in attendance at the below events.

4.00pm Onwards - Thursday 14th August: English Bay Welcome Picnic - BYO food (we recommend grabbing sushi from Big Bang on Denman St), drinks and picnic blanket Meet Here

Transport to the Wedding: American Creek Lodge is an 8 minute drive outside of Hope. There will be a shuttle bus going back and forth from Hope on the day of the wedding to transfer everyone so there is no need to drive. Parking is very limited on the site so if you do need to drive please email me on emmadawson12@gmail.com.

Shuttle Bus Pickup and Drop Off Locations: To be announced closer to the wedding date, please let us know your accommodation when RSVP’ing.

Taxi/Uber: The shuttle bus will run late, however should you need a ride home outside of the bus please note there is no Uber in Hope, however there is a 24 hour taxi service. Call +1 604 869 5501 to hail a cab.

Wedding Day August 16th: Ceremony starts at 4.00pm. Then we party!

Weather: While we can’t predict what the weather will be. Hope typically has highs of 25 degrees and lows of 14 degrees in August.

Post Wedding Day August 17th: If you’re hanging around, come hang out. Details TBC closer to the time.

Hens/Bucks Party: The hens/bucks parties will be taking place over Saturday August 9th/Sunday August 10th. If you would like to come please plan to be in Vancouver over this weekend.

Extra Time with Carl-Hein & Emma: We are planning to take time off either side of the wedding so that we can spend some extra time with our international guests. We will look to organise some catchup’s within this time if you’re staying in Vancouver. These will be announced closer to the date.

Kids: We absolutely love all of your kiddo’s and understand that many of you are travelling internationally and would like to have a family holiday either before or after our wedding. So everyone’s kids are welcome. Please let us know when RSVP’ing if you’re bringing your kids.

Dress Code: Cocktail/formal. Flat shoes, chunky heels or wedges are also recommended over stiletto style heels as there is some rocky gravel on the site.

HOPE ACCOMODATION OPTIONS:

There are a few accommodation options in Hope. Private home accommodation through Air BnB and VRBO is the most popular followed by motel accommodation. Please note accommodation can fill up quickly due to its proximity to many outdoor activities, so we’d recommend you try to book as soon as you’re able to. Once booked please confirm your accommodation with us in the RSVP so we can coordinate with the shuttle bus company.

VANCOUVER ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS:

A couple of things to keep in mind if you’re booking accommodation in Vancouver

  • If you want to be close to us, our address is 1025 Gilford St, located in the West End near Stanley Park.

  • Please DO NOT book accommodation on or near East Hastings St. While you will likely find cheaper accommodation in this area we would not recommend booking here as the effects of the opioid crisis are very prevalent and crime rates are higher.

  • It’s not standard for some accommodation options to have air conditioning, if you would like air conditioning, please double check before booking.

Hope is a small town outside of Vancouver known for being the filming location of Rambo First Blood and it’s world class chainsaw event which will be held between August 14th - 17th. While visiting check out some of the below attractions.
